Scott's musical background comes from being surrounded by musicians most of his life. Encouraged by his father, he learned guitar at a young age, and was a natural. As his talent developed, Scott had the opportunity to play with some of his idols and learn at their feet. His style, while original and unique, was inspired by such artists as James Taylor and David Ruffin of the Temptations.
He finds his songs spontaneously, sometimes where he least expects them. Whether it's a broken heart, an inspirational character or the wide-eyed innocence of a child, Scott can shape and mold the elements into an engaging tale told only with a voice and a guitar.
Living in the south has afforded him many opportunities in building a fan base and playing as many dates as possible in some of the more interesting venues in the region. The time is right to make a move and expand his horizons to Los Angeles, and Scott is looking forward to the new environment and all it has to offer.
Charitable causes have always been important to Scott, and he has lent his talents to raise money for a variety of events, including battered women's shelters, environmental causes, and most recently, the Brandon Coker Benefit at Clemson in May. Raising money at the corporate level is always a great thing, but Scott really feels the most helpful in situations where the direct result is assisting a specific family or individual through a tough time. Some of his favorite causes are cancer survivors, abused children and victims of domestic abuse. Through Acoustic Outreach, he hopes to be able to lend a hand to as many individuals as possible.
